In-Home Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
What to Expect
Expert pelvic floor care delivered to your home in Utah Valley—dedicated 60-minute sessions, no waiting rooms, no childcare needed.
Your First Visit (60 Minutes)
We start with your story. What brought you here? What are your symptoms? What are your goals? If you’re nervous about what this involves, you’re not alone—most women are.
Understanding your experience helps Dr. Danaya create a treatment plan specific to your body, your birth experience, and your symptoms—not a generic protocol.
Full Physical Assessment
Your first visit includes a thorough evaluation, which may include:
- Posture and movement evaluation - How you stand, walk, and move affects pelvic floor function
- Core and breathing mechanics - Breath patterns and core engagement directly impact the pelvic floor
- Hip, back, and pelvic mobility - Joint restrictions can contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction
- Pelvic floor muscle assessment - External and internal evaluation of muscle tone, strength, and coordination
About Internal Assessment
Internal pelvic floor assessment is often the most effective way to evaluate muscle tone, strength, and coordination—but it's always optional and entirely your choice. We move at your pace, and consent is always asked. External assessment and treatment are also valuable, and we respect your comfort level at every step.
Dr. Danaya uses anatomical models to help you understand exactly what’s happening in your body.
You'll leave your first visit with:
- A clear understanding of what's happening in your body
- A treatment plan built around your specific goals
- Home exercises or modifications to start immediately
- Answers to your questions
Ongoing Treatment Sessions (60 Minutes)
Every session is tailored to your needs and progresses as your body responds to treatment.
Treatment May Include:
- Manual therapy - Hands-on muscle, tissue, and fascial mobilization to release tension and restore mobility
- Pelvic floor muscle training - Strengthening, coordination, or relaxation exercises depending on your needs
- Scar massage - For C-section scars, perineal tears, or other surgical scars affecting function
- Therapeutic exercise and strength training - Functional whole-body movement that supports pelvic health
- Breathing, postural, and core retraining - Teaching your body new patterns that support healing
- Education on daily activities, movement, and self-care - Practical guidance for your everyday life
- Dry needling, cupping, or visceral manipulation - Advanced techniques for complex cases when appropriate. Learn more about dry needling →
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
This depends on your condition and goals. Some patients are symptom-free in 3–4 sessions. Others with more complex or long-standing issues benefit from longer care. Dr. Danaya will give you a realistic timeline at your first visit and reassess regularly as you progress.
What We Bring to Your Home
Dr. Danaya arrives fully equipped with everything needed for a full evaluation and treatment:
- Treatment table - Professional, adjustable table for comfortable assessment and treatment
- Assessment supplies - All tools needed for thorough evaluation
- Exercise equipment - Resistance bands, weights, stability tools, and more
- Education materials - Visual aids, handouts, and resources tailored to your needs
Dr. Danaya arrives fully equipped and sets up everything in your home.
All you need is a space where you feel comfortable—bedroom, living room, home gym, or anywhere with a bit of privacy and room for the treatment table.
What to Wear
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing or athletic wear is best. For internal pelvic floor assessment (if you choose to include it), you'll need to undress from the waist down. We provide draping for privacy during all assessments and treatments.
Preparing for Your Session
To get the most out of your appointment:
- Clear a space for the treatment table (about 7 feet by 3 feet)
- Have a bathroom nearby and accessible
- Bring any relevant medical records or imaging if you have them
- Write down questions or symptoms you want to discuss
- If postpartum, don't worry about tidying—we understand real life with a newborn
Your Children Are Welcome
In-home visits are designed with real life in mind. Your baby or children can be present during treatment. We work around feeding schedules, naps, and the realities of parenting. No need to arrange childcare or stress about being away from your family.
Why In-Home Pelvic Floor Therapy
Dr. Danaya chose in-home care because she knows firsthand how hard it is to leave the house postpartum or while pregnant with other children. As a four-time postpartum mother herself, she designed Radiant around what women actually need—not what’s convenient for a clinic schedule.
In-Home Care Means:
- No arranging childcare — your kids can be right there with you
- No driving with a newborn — especially valuable in the early postpartum weeks
- No waiting rooms — your session starts when Dr. Danaya walks through your door
- Treatment in your own space — more comfortable, more private, less stressful
- Home exercises in context — Dr. Danaya can see your actual living space and tailor exercises to equipment and furniture you already have
Every session is one-on-one with Dr. Danaya personally. You’re never handed off to an aide or assistant. And because Radiant is cash-based, there are no insurance-dictated visit limits or rushed 20-minute appointments—just dedicated time focused entirely on your recovery.
Service Area
Dr. Danaya currently provides in-home pelvic floor physical therapy throughout Utah Valley, including Spanish Fork, Payson, Salem, Santaquin, Elk Ridge, Woodland Hills, Mapleton, and Springville.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is in-home pelvic floor therapy different from a clinic visit?
You receive the same evidence-based assessment and treatment you’d get in a clinic—Dr. Danaya brings a professional treatment table, assessment tools, exercise equipment, and education materials. The difference is convenience: no commute, no childcare to arrange, no waiting rooms, and a more comfortable, private environment. Many patients find they’re more relaxed at home, which actually improves treatment outcomes for pelvic floor work.
What if my house is messy?
Please don’t worry about it. Dr. Danaya is a mother of four. She understands what life looks like with a newborn, with toddlers, with the chaos of real family life. All she needs is enough space for a treatment table—about 7 feet by 3 feet—and a nearby bathroom.
How long does pelvic floor therapy take to see results?
Many patients notice early improvements within 2–4 weeks, including better muscle awareness and reduced symptoms. More significant results—like returning to exercise without leaking or pain-free intimacy—typically develop over 8–12 weeks with consistent treatment. Some patients with straightforward issues are symptom-free in 3–4 sessions. Dr. Danaya will give you a realistic timeline at your first visit.
Is pelvic floor therapy worth the cost without insurance?
Consider what you’re spending now: incontinence pads run $50–$200 per month. Over the average 7 years women wait before seeking treatment, that’s up to $16,800 on pads alone. A typical course of pelvic floor PT addresses the root cause in weeks, not years. Many patients also receive significant reimbursement through their insurance—we provide detailed superbills with everything your insurer needs. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Can my baby or kids be in the room during treatment?
Absolutely. In-home sessions are designed around real life. Babies can nurse, toddlers can play, and we work around nap schedules and feeding times. You don’t need to find childcare to get the care you need.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. In Utah, you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral. You can schedule directly or start with a free 15-minute consultation if you have questions first.
